Hello,

I am installing the remote agent for BE 2014 on several Win7 computers.  The BE server is a Win2008Standard SP2.  All of the installs have gone off without a hitch except for one computer.  BE gives the following error each time I attempt to load the agent:  "Error connecting to the remote computer. Ensure that the computer is available, has WMI enabled, and is not blocked by a firewall.  8".  

I have turned off the firewall, I have ensured WMI is enabled, and it is connected to the network, and the domain, and I can ping the server and the server can ping the computer.  What am I missing?  I just don't know what else to check.

Any help would be great!

We have a Netbackup Environment having Netbackup version 7.6.1.1. It has SLP Policies and Replication Director enabled for Indexing and Replications. It is integrated with Netapp DFM server.

Snapshot Backup are getting completed successfully, but Replications are failing with error code 174 on Netbackup console. We checked DFM > Data > Jobs and can see some jobs are successfull while some have failed. Not sure what is the issue and which logs do i need to check.

Operating system used : Linux RedHat Entreprise Edition (RHEL) 6.4 deployed as a « Master Linux G2R1C0 Premium

I have an issue with Windows 10 and endpoint 12.1.6 MP4 I understand that the latest version 12.1.6.MP4 fixes issues when installing endpoint and I can confirm it does but what happens after the first reboot is where I am finding the problems - Programs crash - error pop ups etc. I have a support call open but so far no fix!

I just wanted to hear if anyone is running Windows 10 x64 bit - fully patched and also endpoint version 12.1.6. MP4 and having no problems?

i'm in need of an opensource enterprise tape storage management software since my tape media are growing. i want to manage these huge tape items, any suggestions?

I provide IT support for a local Non-Profit organization in town that purchases Symantec products from Techsoup. These products are greatly reduced in price as they are donated to Techsoup for Non-Profit organizations.

The Mail Security License we have is a NFR version and i found out yesterday after an update that the NFR versions are not eligible for the current updates. Even though the product still shows a valid license good thru 7/2016 the product is not scanning our email now. Last night i uninstalled the current version and reloaded the older version that had worked before the upgrade. It still is not blocking the spam.

i am open to any ideas as to what i can do to get this product scanning and blocking again.

I am using Symantec VIP as validation and protection service. I have "VIP Access" on my mobile phone. This is what I noticed -

1. Change the clock to a future time (say 9:15 AM EST) and note down the "random" number (say 388511)

2. Change the clock back to correct time (say 9:10 AM EST) and wait for the previously set "future time"

3. The randomly generated number is no longer random - I get the same number which I noted (388511)

So if I move the clock forward and note down a set of numbers I can log into the system without the need for the token. Isn't this a security hole?

    I have a Scenario, where in Site-A i have 3 ESX servers with 10 Virtual Machines Connected to NetApp Storage. Now i have created a VMware Replication in Site-B without NetApp Storage. Now if i run the NDMP backup for Site-A using Symantec backup exec can i replicate properly in case of a disaster for Site-A.

(which means I can replicate from Site-B for my virtual machines, but i want to know if i can do it for NDMP also or do i need a separate replication for backup exec media server or NDMP)

The question is simple: is HP StoreServ 7000/8000 compatible with Storage Foundation 5.1?

HCL for Storage Foundation 5.1 (http://www.veritas.com/docs/000008646) does not contain any information regarding StoreServ 7000/8000.

HCL for SF 6.0 (http://www.veritas.com/docs/000011772) has StoreServ 7000/8000 compatibility included.

So will StoreServ 7000/8000 be backward compatible with Storage Foundation 5.1? Are there any specifiic differences between SF 5.1 anf SF 6.0 that could prevent StoreServ from backward compatibility?

Hi I have a Lenovo Yoga that I ham trying to Ghost a copy of the hard drive as an image to a USB drive that I save all backup images to.

When I boot to the ghost cd and go to create the image it does not see the external usb hard drive.

Am i missing drivers for the usco controller?  If so how would i add them

OS: Windows 2008 R2  (VM hosted on ESX)

Source Client: Windows 2008 R2 (VM hosted on ESX) Hard disk: 3 (20G, 5G, 10G)

Destination Client: Windows 2008 R2 (VM hosted on ESX) Hard disk: 01 (40G)

NBU Server and Client version: 7.6.0.4

What i did:

I took a full "BMR Option enabled" backup of client with "ALL LOCAL DRIVES" directive, and it completed with status code 0.

As this is DSR restore, i copied the current config to eiditable one and made changes to NIC Mac and ran "Prepare to discover" option.

New config is discovered, now edited the config and changed Disk layout to match it with the source one.

Ran prepare to restore.

Issues:

Now when i rebooted the destination client using PXE boot, it started the process, but when it detected Dissimilar disks, it opened DDR utility insted of using the disk layout which i provided in Configuration. 

anyhow, i created the same disk layout that i created in config using DDR.

After successfully partitioning the disks, it gave an error "The restore stopped due to following error <?>".

I have attached the screenshots and bmrrst logs.

Please help me diagnose the problem.

I have a customer who has a Win2012 R2 domain controller and a Win2012 R2 Exchange 2013 server. They own Backup Exec 2014 licensing and want me to set it up. I said we need a new server they say forget it...

Which is the lesser of two eveils here...ie...

Is Backup Exec supported on an Exchange \ DC and which is the lesser of two evils in terms of identifying which box to install BE2014 on out of these two options.
