Hello,

I am installing the remote agent for BE 2014 on several Win7 computers.  The BE server is a Win2008Standard SP2.  All of the installs have gone off without a hitch except for one computer.  BE gives the following error each time I attempt to load the agent:  "Error connecting to the remote computer. Ensure that the computer is available, has WMI enabled, and is not blocked by a firewall.  8".  

I have turned off the firewall, I have ensured WMI is enabled, and it is connected to the network, and the domain, and I can ping the server and the server can ping the computer.  What am I missing?  I just don't know what else to check.

We have a Netbackup Environment having Netbackup version 7.6.1.1. It has SLP Policies and Replication Director enabled for Indexing and Replications. It is integrated with Netapp DFM server.

Snapshot Backup are getting completed successfully, but Replications are failing with error code 174 on Netbackup console. We checked DFM > Data > Jobs and can see some jobs are successfull while some have failed. Not sure what is the issue and which logs do i need to check.

I have an issue with Windows 10 and endpoint 12.1.6 MP4 I understand that the latest version 12.1.6.MP4 fixes issues when installing endpoint and I can confirm it does but what happens after the first reboot is where I am finding the problems - Programs crash - error pop ups etc. I have a support call open but so far no fix!

I just wanted to hear if anyone is running Windows 10 x64 bit - fully patched and also endpoint version 12.1.6. MP4 and having no problems?

This morning I received an email about the release of Symantec Client Management Suite 8.0. Unfortunately Symantec chose to use a mass-mailer-service from nexstra.com. Why can't you use an internal service or at least use your own domain name for links (including "read-online"-links).

When enterprises use such a service it becomes more and more difficult to distinguish between official bulk mail and phishing attempts. As a result people might dispose of official mail or become a victim of phishing. At the very least provide (easy to find) information on your website that you are using this specific service, i.e.:

NDMP backups are configured in our enivronment for Netapp Filers.

Backup are running for all the volume except one volume in a NetApp Filer. Issue is 

"Backup is getting intitated, Snapshot is getting created Backup goes hung state for few hours and failing with 99 error code"

Snapshot which was created on the filer was not cleared, Same thing repeated for 4 times & now on the filer we have 4 snapshots which were created and occupired almost 80 GB of disk space.

Tried to delete them manually from filer level but not luck we couldnt able to clear that. 

Hope some one can provide me a solution for this issue.

Lets me if you need any more ifnoirmation to understand the issue.

Hi All, We have almost 170+ vmhosts under vcenter, here few servers having RDM Luns where backup is failing with 156 as you guys know snap shot creation won't happen, our client selection is set to automatic where all the hosts will be selected for back in the script, here is there any way to exclude these few servers from VMware backup? I cannot keep server in offline state as we are backing up servers with client installed on them. 2. If we select the client script manually I could able to exclude these problematic servers, but here when ever new hosts are added vm team won't confirm us where there is a chance to miss backups for those servers as per my knowledge, if I'm wrong please correct me where in manual script selection of new hosts are added those will automatically reflect with check box enabled.

Discovery Accelerator exports are failing to retrieve items with the error "Failed to retrieve: An internal failure occurred. Internal Error: 'Unspecified error (0x80070002)'".

i was able to export succussfully in the past .

We're currently about to switch to Symantec and we're going to use the SEE and SEP products and we're are wondering if there is some type of all-in-one management console for both programs.

I am running a Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 for backing up Windows 7 computers.

After backup is done in Symanatec Management Console if I go to Reports > Backup and Recover > Backup Status of Managed Computers report it shows different status of the backup execution as shown below some showes At Risk some shows Need Attention etc...

Now, If I use Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2 Console to check backup status it gives me more details such as why status is set to At Risk or Attention Needed as shown below

Is there a way to view a detailed log(Reasons) details in Altiris Console? So, I can use that information for reporting purpose

Any kind of help or a pointer is highly appreciated.

From the license information in BE i was able to see as below its says Licensed YES but Installed NO. Does this mean Library expansion is not possible ? i mean using more than one drive ?

I am testing ESXi 5.5 VM backup using Backup Exec 15

The backup is creating a hot add device on my Backup Exec 15 VM

All my VMs to be backed up are on the same host

1. Is it neseccary to have the Hot Add feature enabled - it eats up a lot of disk space on larege VMs

2. Can I disable this by disabling that Tranport Mode

Finally - All I really want to do is create a clone of my VM to a backup disk as quickly as possible. I do not need granular recovery

Any feedback is greatly appreciated

We are using backup exec 2015 and backup works fine with Sophos turned off ( as in i need to stop all Sophos services) but as soon as i allow it to run again the system state fails. Ive tried adding exclusions to the sysvol and netlogon shares amongst other things and nothing seems to work.

Is there something that Backup Exec needs to access in the system state that most antivirus products block by default? Surely there must be an easy and known fix for this?

The file server on which Backup Exec resides in 2008R2 and the database servers are running under 2003. Is there anyway that Backup Exec could be responsible for causing the problmes we are seeing copying files across the network. It is the only process running on the file server, when the database files are transfered across the network.

 I'm running Backup Exec 15 Feature Pack 4. I have windows server 2012 with exchange 2013 server installed. I'm trying to restore mailbox as PST to different location; the error is as follow:

On the manager under protection technology, last scan column is giving a very old information where as when we look in the client itself the last scan is the latest date.
