Duplication Jobs Fail With ec 191/96
I need a solution
Hello All,
NBU Master:7.6.0.2
OS:WIN 2K8 R2
I am facing few issues with duplication jobs.Everytime they are triggered,they go in queued and job state state says "Drives are in Use" although i have drives which are active and ready for use.Secondly.they fail with 96 most of the times and sometimes with ec 191.
I need to know from experts what all steps i need to follow to proceed with troubleshooting this issue.

NetBackup - Tape level Encryption

In my current Netbackup environment. Encryption is enabled at the tape library level.
- Tape Library level Encryption.
- Encryption Key Server type is “Q-EKM”.
This was configured long back when I was not with this environment and present the people who were configured this were not in environment.
So could you please help how can I get the Key information. Let me know if you need any more information.

AIR replicated data is very large on target side

Hi all,
I use AIR replication to send data from my primary to secondary sites. I have two source storage units on my primary datadomain, and two target storage units on my secondary datadomain. These storage units are ONLY used for AIR replication. Nothing else writes to them, but the storage units on the target side are very much larger then those on the primary side.

For those of you replicating like this, do you see similar behavior? Makes me wonder if the data is not expiring on my target side. Looking through the catalog on my secondary side, does not show that old data is sitting out there...at least not in the gui.

SSR2011 sometimes delayed offsite - no error
I need a solution
Hi all,
I have a strange problem.
The situation is as followes: The fysical server runs a hyperV version of w2k8r2. The client is a SBS2011 standard
There is always an USB drive connected to the fysycal server (in fact 2, that are being exchanged every week)
Each drive has its own driveletter (R and S so that the devices keeps that drive letter)
They are shared as \\hypervserver\R$ and \\hypervserver\S$ and are used as offsite copy!
On the SBS2001 runs SSR 2011 (latest with all updates) and it runs a backup of the SBS machine on an internal drive K:\ (that drive is an virtual drive on the hyperv server).
For many years it ran smoothly until sometimes the offsitecopy was not made. When the backup ran at 0.15 at night it normally also created offsite copy directly after it.
Every month when updates ran the server SBS 2011 needs to reboot.
The last 3 month the backup runs on the local K:\ drive but no offsite copy after a reboot of one of the machines (hyperv or SBS).
Very strange is that when I exchange the external drive, it does run offsite copy after the backup is created.
Last thursday I updated the servers and that night the same thing happened. I did NOT exchange the external drive and it took until saturday untill the offsite copy was triggered.
Very strange. The server is not very busy so I do not think that is the cause.
I already reset the backup three times. That is no solution!
Problem keeps coming back.
I do not see any errors..
Can somebody help me? I know that The VProSvc.exe (Backup Exec System Recovery Service) initiates the ftp Offsite Copy process. And that seems to run fine. ButI am not sure if that process also is used for SMB backup to a network share.

Hello,
I have posted two threads on Forums>Security>Data Loss Prevention, but I cannot find them anywhere.
The title is DC Agent on 100% CPU.
When I go to my account, then activity it is not showing, but when I go to points, I can see that they are posted.
When I open them, they appear as private. I tried checking certain groups with first topic and unchecking everything with second topic making it public. Both topics are the same, and don't show up anywhere.
Can you please tell me how to make public topics?

Enterprise Vault error in Outlook 2013

on operating system Windows 7 SP1 64 bit Enterprise is installed Microsoft Office Professional Plus Outlook 2013 32bit.
Additionaly is installed "Symantec Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-In 10.0.4.1354" (version 10.0.17738).
In Outlook was exist (but now are missing) few fuctionality from EVault (e.g. restore from vault). What is still exist are only
What was trying is run ResetEVClient.exe (from EVClient directory). But it was not helpfull.
Do you have idea what must be corrected, please?

Unable to Create Installation Media
I need a solution
I am following article http://www.veritas.com/docs/000081529, I am trying to create the installation media for my Licensed Symantec Backup Exec Recovery software.
I was able to download and install the Symantec Installation Manager.
I am not able to click on the install new products icon, so unable to add the products as instructed.
If I just go to create installation package, and select my products, when I try to build the media, I get a message that says "Symantec Installation Manager is required component and must be selected in order to build an install package. Please select a version of Symantec Installation Manager in order to continue."

restricting netbackup operators remote access to Master Server
I need a solution
I am trying to restrict rdp access to netbackup master server for three restore operators who are not domain admins
We have three netbackup restore operators who are domain backup operators, they have been added to Veritas\Java\auth.conf file
They can administor netbackup via the java console - but i don't want them to have the rights to remote desktop on the master server.
I had to give them local admin on the master server so the java client could work properly.. Is there a configuration that i am missing?

Suggestions on IDE of IDE + framework
I need a solution
I'm pretty new here and seeking suggestions from the techies out here.
Lately, I successfully completed my mobile app development course from Cestar College and now I'm all set to build my very first Android app on virtual study room where students can meet other students of their own disciplines and prepare for their exams. I wanted to make it cross platform (pick the same code and compile to android, ios without many problems). Does anyone know some IDE of IDE + framework I could use for this? Any ideas?

Unable to install Symantec endpoint 12.1.6xxx

Hi all,
I've inherited a 2003 standard box which i am unable to install Symantec AV 12.1.6318.610
It appears there is reminence of an older version of symantec which does not appear to have been uninstalled properly. I've run clean wipe and tried installing the above version over the top but each time i run the installed i get a box appearing requesting a reboot of the server.
I've found various articles regarding deleting reg entries and symantec related folders but none seem to help.
Can anyone offer any advice or any other tools that can assist?

The program does not appear under my products tab and I can't seem to raise a support ticket for it because as far as Symantec thinks I don't own it even though I did buy it through them about 18 months ago.

It shows backup report for all drives but shows size in bytes. exmaple

D:\xxxx bytes
How can i configure to show report in MB/GB/TB and also in end how much TOTAL data in GB symantec backup exec took?

MC/SG with CFS and vxfence

HI,
I would to know if following solutions is supported:
OS: HPUX Itanium 11.31
Cluster : MC/Service Guard with CFS 11.20 version
Cluster Split-Brain Protection: Coordinator Disk on Veritas Disk Group (vxfence)
Usually i found "coordinator disk" only with VCS, never with MC/SG.
Is "coordinator disk" + MC/SG on HPUX a supported solution?
