Mail Security not scanning email - Exchange 2012

I need a solution

I provide IT support for a local Non-Profit organization in town that purchases Symantec products from Techsoup. These products are greatly reduced in price as they are donated to Techsoup for Non-Profit organizations.

The Mail Security License we have is a NFR version and i found out yesterday after an update that the NFR versions are not eligible for the current updates. Even though the product still shows a valid license good thru 7/2016 the product is not scanning our email now. Last night i uninstalled the current version and reloaded the older version that had worked before the upgrade. It still is not blocking the spam.

i am open to any ideas as to what i can do to get this product scanning and blocking again.
